Family Trip 2008 - Washington, D.C.

This past June, our family took a trip down to the Washington, D.C. area. David and I always enjoy going there, and it seems that we always see something new every time we go! We had such a good time. I enjoyed just being together with all my boys, just the four of us! We could do whatever we wanted with no time schedule to keep - it was wonderful! Of course on Sunday, we went to Dr. Jeff Owens' church in Martinsburg, WV. We try to see the Owens on a yearly basis - such dear people! Here are some of the pictures that we took...

While Friday was spent in Washington, D.C., Saturday was spent doing just whatever we wanted to do. We went over to the church to see what was going on, then it was off to bowling, and of course we had to stop at Walmart (which I did 3 times in a four day trip...I love that store!). Later on that day we just went back to the hotel and the boys played with their new guns, we ate Subway for dinner and watched a movie...just relaxed!!

On Monday we headed for home. On the way we stopped at Hershey, PA. What a fun time that was! We went to Hershey's Chocolate World - boy, I have never seen so much candy!!!

Valentine's Day 2008...

This Valentine's Day was fun and full of activity!! I just love to look around and see all the pink and red things and hearts and such. I was also looking forward to having a date with my Sweetheart! Papa and Nana watched the boys so that David and I could go out on a date. We were suppose to go to the Olive Garden for dinner, but things changed a little...my husband brought home a heart-shaped pizza and of course we were all starving, especially when we saw that come through the door!! So, we filled up on that and therefore wasn't very hungry when it was time for us to go on our dinner date! But we did go to a few stores and looked at things that we enjoy...and finally around 7:30pm or so we did eat at the food court! It might not have been a romantic setting for some people, but it was good enough for us. Hey, when you have little ones around all the time, just being alone together is all the romance you need...even if it is in the food court!! "O Christmas Tree.."

We went over to Lagoner Farms in Williamson last week to buy our Christmas tree. David and I looked over the trees and decided to get a littler one this year. We saw this tree and laughed a little about it's size, but ended up feeling kinda' bad for it (well, it was more me than David). So, we took it home and started decorating it and became a beautiful little tree. It might be a small tree, but it's our tree!

Well, the other day I finally got out the boys' Christmas tree ornaments and they loved decorating their tree. Daddy helped out too...well, I don't know if "help" is the right word!!! He did buy some new ornaments for them to put on their tree at the hardware store...what a dad!

Decorating the tree...

David and Joey have a Christmas tree in their bedroom this year. I thought it would be fun for them to decorate it themselves. They have colored lights on it so far. I have to get the decorations out yet!

"Where 'toe' go, Mommy?"

(Editor's Note: This entry was recorded a few weeks after the actual events took place...oops!)
Yesterday, we had a few flurries and it covered our lawn just enough so that you could see a white covering. This morning after breakfast, I was washing Joey up and he looked out the window and said, "Where 'toe' go Mommy?" It took me a few seconds to figure out what he was asking me. Finally, it clicked - "Where the snow go, Mommy?" Joey wanted to know what happened to that white stuff that was there yesterday.

...is what David picked out for his 4th birthday! He loves that little monkey. We had David's party at Aunt Jackie's house (it's bigger!) Everyone came out to wish him a Happy Birthday. Here are some pictures from the party...We got some snapshots at home before we walked over to Aunt Jackie's!
